[Tonight had been probably one of the highest points in Ippo's life. Even higher than being accepted into Hope's Peak Academy on account of his unique gift for the noble art of boxing; tonight had bore the fruit of all his hard work and training, every bit of blood and sweat he'd put forth on this arduous road he'd set himself on. He'd gone off from the school that night for his very first title challenge, a mere teenager of 17 who had risen through the ranks to challenge the current reigning featherweight champion of Japan...and as he walked back through the doors of the school, he was returning a champion.
His belt was still strapped firmly around his waist and even if his face looked a little swollen and out of sorts, the smile gracing it was practically radiant. He didn't immediately see anyone, partially because his left eye was swollen and mostly because it was at a point in the night where people were either in their rooms, in the lounge, or attending night classes, but that didn't matter much to him.
He'd finally achieved a dream of his for as long as he could think back to when he'd first discovered his talent and love of the sport...and now it was finally time to celebrate!
It was time to find the school store, because even if he couldn't get food this time of the night...he certain could go get himself a well deserved snack.]
[And rushing out of the store at a rather inopportune moment was one Ibuki Mioda, a piece of chocolate chip jerky in her mouth, and she was also holding a bag full of various other snacks-]
[Well, it was rather inevitable wasn't it? Considering Ippo's lack of visual capabilities and Ibuki's speed, she bumped right into him. Thankfully his sore...well, everything was still in top form and he was able to quickly grab a hold of her shoulders to make sure she didn't fall over.]
Oh! I'm sorry, are you alright?
[He couldn't rightly say he knew the girl in front of him...but he definitely knew of her. They'd spoken a few times before...or rather she had spoken at him and he'd listened politely until she ran off to do something else. Ibuki Mioda was her name, if he was remembering right, though considering how many times he'd been struck in the head tonight, he could be mistaken.]
[That...was enough to get a laugh out of him. Of all the ridiculous things to say, that was pretty ridiculous, but that made it all the more funny if you were asking him. It helped that his mood was already pretty good too.]
Yeah...yeah I'll bet it does, definitely feels like all of the above. I'd say it was worth it though. And you're Mioda-san, right? Sorry for bumping into you, you didn't drop anything right?
[Because no matter what state he was in, other people were totally priority outside the ring.]
Mmm... nope! Ibuki didn't drop a single thing! With our impromptu teamwork, it seems not a single snack was lost in the confusion! Tragedy has been averted!

[She finally finishes chewing and swallowing her piece of chocolate chip jerky, and she fishes out her opened packet of the same food item before offering it to Ippo]
Here, here! Chocolate chip jerky! It's weird and delicious, just like Ibuki!
[He sounded the words out syllable for syllable, as if understanding the words themselves would somehow shed some light on the snack as a whole. The short end of the story is that it didn't and he was still wholly confused as he took the snack being presented to him, his confusion directly clashing with this embarrassment at such a blatant proclamation.]
I...well...I should...I'll give it a try...?
[Couldn't hurt, right? He'll just open up the top of it and take a bite, getting a nice mouth full of the strange combination of sweet and savory. It wasn't the worst thing he'd ever eaten, he decided, he'd go so far as to say it was decent! Not a snack of choice, but he could finish the stick and he wouldn't regret it.]
It's not an amaaaaaaaaaaazing thing like Teruteru-chan's cooking, but still, right? It's not like Ibuki can just bother Teruteru-chan whenever she want a snack!
And if I did, he might start getting the wrong idea! Iyan!

[See? Look at the shiny belt on his waist, isn't it all sparkly and awesome??! He's so incredibly proud of it...and honestly considering the person he had to beat to get it, he should be. Not so keen on group parties though...he wasn't all too much a people person.]
